ARSENAL
Wojciech Szczesny - Returned to the starting line up in place of Fabianski. Looked a little casual with his kicking at times. 6
Bacary Sagna - Shows so much energy down the right hand side. Will be a big miss if he leaves this summer. 7
Per Mertesacker - Decent battle with Carroll. Won some, lost some of the aerial battles but will be happy with his night. 6.5
Better going forwards nowadays? Bacary Sagna was caught out a few times down the Arsenal right
Laurent Koscielny - Arsenal have missed him and it's no coincidence they won on his return. 7
Thomas Vermaelen - Played in unfamiliar left-back role, but didn't look out of place. 7
Mikel Arteta - Must have been running on fumes after Wembley's exertions, but kept things ticking along in midfield. 7
Tomas Rosicky - Vibrant in midfield but his work rate wasn't always apparent. Subbed off with 15 minutes to go. 6
Roaming man: Tomas Rosicky was trying to press the issue from central midfield for the hosts
Doing battle: Mikel Arteta and Mo Diame tussle for possession in the midfield area

Santi Cazorla - Some flashes of brilliance and worked his socks off all night. 7
Lukas Podolski - Dug his team out of a hole with the equaliser, and eased nerves with the third. 7.5
Olivier Giroud - Scored his 20th of the season. Has his critics but hard to fault him too much this season. 6.5

Adrian - May have thought he was in for an easy night as Arsenal toiled at first. Didn't turn out that way. 5.5
Guy Demel - Found difficulty in dealing with Podolski cutting in from the left-hand side. 5.5
Winston Reid - Solid start from the defender but struggled to contain Arsenal as they put their foot down. 6
James Tomkins - Combative in dealing with Giroud but Arsenal pressure told in the end. 6

All over him! Winston Reid paid close attention to Frenchman Giroud all night as the Hammers fought hard
Matt Jarvis - Scored a deserved opener for the Hammers, but struggled to make an impact from wide. 6
Pablo Armero - Confronted with Cazorla and did a decent enough job with coping with the Spaniard. 6

EMIRATES MATCH ZONE: Wenger call-up for Dad's Army, stayaways dent cup case and Swede dreams of being a hero
Arsenal’s starting XI on Tuesday night was their oldest on average in the league since May 4, 2003, when they faced Leeds.
David Seaman, Martin Keown, Thierry Henry, Ray Parlour and Robert Pires played that day as the Gunners lost 3-2.
On Tuesday night, Tomas Rosicky, Mikel Arteta, Kim Kallstrom and Bacary Sagna were all over 30.

Arsene Wenger’s always been one for fielding youngsters but after nine trophyless years is his outlook changing?
Arsenal are annoyed at being given just 25,000 tickets for the FA Cup final.
However, there were plenty of empty seats in the home sections at the Emirates for Tuesday night’s match, which was live on TV.
Arsenal may not find much support for their cup final argument if they can’t sell out home matches with the team fighting for a Champions League place.
West Ham boss Sam Allardyce would have wanted key central defender Winston Reid to play well on Tuesday night — but not that well.
The Gunners have kept a close eye on the New Zealander all season and could make a move in the summer.
With Thomas Vermaelen’s future unclear, Arsene Wenger could be in the market for a new centre-half and Reid is on his radar.

Kim Kallstrom made his first start for Arsenal last night, two-and-a-half months after signing on transfer deadline day despite a back injury.
Arsene Wenger insisted on completing his loan move from Spartak Moscow, despite fears he may never play for the Gunners.

Just where will Arsenal find another Bacary Sagna? Even after his exertions at Wembley on Saturday, the rightback was at it again last night as he patrolled the right side of the pitch.
He wants a three-year deal on around £90,000 a week to stay at the Emirates Stadium.
The club are yet to agree a new contract with the France defender and all indications are that he will leave on a free transfer this summer.
They would do well to give him what he wants.
Irreplaceable? Arsenal must fight to keep hold of Bacary Sagna beyond the end of the season.
