Queen's Dressing Room

The Queen's Dressing Room (Peinador de la Reina), also known as Boudoir (Tocador) or Mirador, was built around the year 1537 at the top of Abu l-Hayyay's Tower (Torre de Abu l-Hayyay) and it is so called because the Empress Isabel, Charles V's wife, lived there. On the tower's southern side there is a semicircular arch that leads to the Dressing Room, which was before an Arab lantern. On the rest of its sides there is a corridor open to the landscape. To the right of the entrance there is a sort of burner, formed by a marble flagstone with holes through which the perfume came out. The perfume was produced by spices that were burnt in a chimney downstairs and for this reason this tower was also called the «Tower of the Stove» (Torre de la Estufa). The fresco paintings are of interest, especially the ones representing Charles V's campaign to Tunisia in 1535. These show the squadron's departure from the port of Gagiliari, the journey, the manoeuvres, the withdrawal of the troops and their return to Sicily. Other paintings represent various scenes, from allegories of the Virtues to Phaeton's fable. They were probably made between 1539 and 1546.

Abu l-Hayyay's Tower (Torre de Abu l-Hayyay) was built on the walk by the ramparts and it has a view over the whole valley of the river Darro. The tower was decorated by Yusuf I and finished byMohammed V. It was part of the palace and had a defensive character. It was accessible from the covered walk by the ramparts underneath the Hall of the Ambassadors (Salón de los Embajadores). The wall used to reach the windowsill of the Dressing Room's balconies, but when it was destroyed in 1831, it was rebuilt to a lower height and a secret staircase was discovered. These stairs go through the lower part of the tower and lead to a clearing in the woods at the base of the tower.

The entrance to the tower has a carved wooden lintel, plaster voussiors above and a rectangle with stars in relief. Unfortunately, the inscriptions that existed around the door are not all preserved, but at least it is known (thanks to the fragments that remain) that they were praises to God and Mohammed V.

From the northern gallery of the Court of the Myrtles (Patio de los Arrayanes) through a pointed arch of mocarabes, visitors may enter into the Hall of the Boat (Sala de la Barca). The origin of its name is the Arabic word baraka, which means blessing and which degenerated into the Spanish word barca, which means boat. This rectangular hall is 24 meters long and 4.35 meters wide, but was apparently smaller at the beginning and later extended by Mohammed V. A semicylindrical vault was destroyed by a fire in 1890 and it was replaced by a copy completed in 1964. On the walls you will see plasterwork with the Nasrid coat of arms and, inside it, the word «Blessing» and the dynasty's motto «Only God is Victor».

The hall is surrounded by a skirting board and there are bedchambers with tile skirting boards covering the columns that hold canted festooned arches of mocarabes and scallops.

Toma, Mariano, para que empieces a trabajar. Tengo más, no  te preocupes. A este paso, no llegas a Junio. Iván Rosa, abogado del Estado y esposo de la vicepresidenta primera del Gobierno, Soraya Sáenz de Santamaría, se incorporará al departamento jurídico de Telefónica,.

Por su parte, fuentes del Grupo Parlamentario Socialista han confirmado también que Paloma Villa, esposa del secretario general del Grupo, Eduardo Madina ha sido contratada recientemente por Telefónica. Sin embargo, ha subrayado que este caso "no es comparable" con los fichajes de familiares de ministros y altos cargos del PP por parte de esta y otras grandes empresas. ¡Manda huevos¡ Igual son pareja mutante.

Ricardo Cospedal, hermano de la secretaria general del PP, será el próximo Miércoles director de la Fundación Carolina, Una fundación pública que ni ellos mismos saben cual es su fin, al parecer la cultura. Son hermanos esto solo es Cospedal, ella De Cospedal.

Ignacio Lópéz del Hierro, marido de De Cospedal, exasesor de Metrovacesa (En quiebra técnica), exasesor de Bami (En quiebra técnica) y últimamente consejero de CCM (la primer caja en “caer”) y que recibió casi un millón de euros por 10 meses de holgazanería (Creo que asistió a tres consejos). Ha negado el puesto en REESA porque va a ser la primer empresa semipública que va a vender Mariano. Hasta esos menesteres vivía muy bien a costa de la exsuegra en Murcia.

José Ramón Bujanda, cuñado del Ministro de Agricultura, Arias Cañete es el nuevo presidente una empresa del mismo sector del que se ocupa el ministro: la Sociedad Estatal de Caución Agraria (SAECA). Hasta ahora en el paro.

El hijo menor de Esperanza Aguirre, Álvaro Ramírez de Haro y Aguirre, es desde principios de enero asesor del Secretario de Estado de Comercio.

La hija de Eduardo Zaplana, María Zaplana Barceló, es asesora es de la Secretaria de Estado de Turismo. (Ojo¡ de la secretaria, no de la secretaría)

The Patio of the Lions (Patio de los Leones) is probably the most famous place of the Alhambra. It is so called because of the twelve lions that throw jets of water and which are part of the fountain in the middle of the patio. The big dodecagon-shaped basin rests on top of these twelve lions that are around it. This white marble fountain is one of the most important examples of Muslim sculpture. Apoem by Ibn Zamrak was carved on the border of the basin. At the beginning of the 17th century another basin was added and is currently in the Garden of the Ramparts (Jardín de los Adarves), as well as the jet, which was done later, as indicated in the engraving.

This patio was built by order of Mohammed V, its ground plan is rectangular and it is surrounded by a gallery in the style of a Christian cloister. It does not follow the typical Muslim Andalusian patio style, more like the Court of the Myrtles (Patio de los Arrayanes). The gallery is supported by 124 white marble columns with fine shafts, which are decorated on the exterior side with many rings and which support cubic capitals and big abacuses, decorated with inscriptions and stylised vegetal forms. Under the wood carving frieze there are plaster arches, except for those of the pavilions and the ends of the longer sides of the galleries, which are of mocarabes, with scallops decorated with rhombus-shaped carvings. At the middle of each of the two longer sides of the patio there is a semicircular arch bigger than the rest of the arches and with archivolts of mocarabes and scallops decorated with styled vegetal forms. These arches lead to the Hall of the Abencerrajes (Sala de los Abencerrajes) and with the Hall of the Two Sisters (Sala de Dos Hermanas). The chambers where the sultan's wives lived are over the arches. At the middle of each of the shorter sides there is a pavilion, built on part of the patio. The pavilions' ground plan is square and they are covered with semispherical domes with a wooden interior.

In the centre of the patio there was a low garden and the galleries' floor is made out of white marble. The garden went through many alterations over the years and it has now been eliminated in order to avoid the dampness it may cause. There are white marble channels, which start inside the pavilions and inside the halls of the two other sides and which get together at the central fountain forming a cross. On the ends of the channels there are jets that send water to the central fountain.

The Comares Palace or Hall (Cuarto o Palacio de Comares) was the official residence of the king and it comprises several rooms that surrounded the Court of the Myrtles (Patio de los Arrayanes). The rooms have galleries with porticoes at the ends. Some examples are the Hall of the Boat (Sala de la Barca) to the north and the Hall of the Ambassadors(Salón de los Embajadores) inside the Comares Tower (Torre de Comares), from which a view over the valley of the river Darro may be enjoyed.

Yusuf I wanted his official residence's decoration to amaze the visitor, so he ordered the architects to build it and adorn it in a exquisite way, although he probably did not see the final result, as several inscriptions affirm that his son Mohammed V was responsible for it. Mohammed V finished the works and constructed a façade on the southern side of the Patio of the Gilded Room (Patio del Cuarto Dorado). On the façade there are two identical gates with lintels, tiles on a ceramic skirting board and plasterwork decoration. Above it are two twin windows with canted festoon and a smaller one in the middle, surrounded by inscriptions from the Koran. The whole wall is beautifully decorated with ornaments and inscriptions, including the motto «Only God is Victor». One of the poems by Ibn Zamrak is tattooed on the frieze made of carved wood, as in other parts of the Nasrid palaces.

Todos los días casos de corrupción y España vendiendo deuda......

 Ya son confesos de morosidad, por falta de buena conducta de sus ediles cerca, de 5.000 Ayuntamientos de España.  La cifra ronda los 18.000 millones de pesetas. MENTIRA, MENTIRA la cifra es bastante superior, porque a mi que soy un m…., me deben más de cien mil euros de unas licencias de obras que nunca me dieron y esos no están contabilizados hasta que resuelva el juez de la OPERACIÓN COSTURERO , como yo hay más de 15 millones de  Euros. El pueblo de al lado iden de lo mismo y así hasta que os canséis de contar. O sea, unas licencias que no hay que pagar por adelantado, sino contra la entrega de la licencia. ¿Sabéis qué dicen? Que se han gastado el dinero en el pueblo, suerte que no os lo habéis gastado en COCA como el director General de Trabajo. De ahí, que de once concejales diez estén imputados y el otro no lo está porque se equivocó el juez. En algunos casos, estas facturas podrían ser la prueba del despilfarro y, en otros, de la mala gestión, pero sea como sea el pago de estas aliviará un poco la difícil situación de los acreedores. Aunque como siempre tendremos que pagar los sufridos ciudadanos.

   Por cierto, el ayuntamiento con mayor volumen de deuda es Madrid,  su alcalde ha sido “subido” por Rajoy a Ministro y de justicia.  Ahí que tener un poco de ética con las personas que poblamos España. Al final conseguirá las Olimpiadas, pero “caras medallas”

Desviarse de los presupuestos ES DELITO. No contabilizar una factura ES DELITO. Manipular la contabilidad ES DELITO, Ponerse un sueldo tres veces superior al que menos cobra, ES DELITO. Ser subjetivo a la hora de conceder ejecuciones de obra ES DELITO. Quien comete un delito, según la Ley, no se puede beneficiar del sufragio pasivo. De modo que hay que sacar la vara, Rajoy.

Bueno, a los alcaldes y concejales les queda menos crédito que a Matas.

A mi, me hace gracia porque soy consciente de la situación, todos los días 2 ó 3 casos de corrupción, más de 5.000 juicios pendientes y España vendiendo “”””deuda””” pero a buen precio.

Con un solo LIBERAL en el parlamento, esto se acabaría. 

Votad a los CUNEROS del PSOE es condenarte y condenar a Almería a la misería.

Candidato LIBERAL por Almería  (CDL)

Me llamo, José Eduardo Pardo Martínez, candidato de CENTRO DEMOCRÁTICO LIBERAL (CDL). Hijo del polifacético, Juan Pardo Navarro, al que admiro como padre,  gran comunicador y con una personalidad tan curiosa como la que, todos los días, me ilumina; supongo que a otros los apaga. Ahora está dedicado de pleno al tema del corte de suministro de agua a más de 20.000 almerienses pobres/parados y os puedo asegurar que esto le preocupa MUCHO. El es un liberal/social.

Desde el momento que me encargan ser candidato  por CDL a las elecciones autonómicas de Andalucía me pongo, completamente, a disposición de todos los almerienses, para aportar todos mis conocimientos en aras del progreso y desarrollo de nuestra comunidad y provincia.  Yo entro en política para servir al pueblo, no para servirme del pueblo. Entre otras cosas porque esto en CDL nunca puede pasar. Los liberales damos al pueblo soberano plena capacidad para decidir "dónde, cuándo y en qué se invertirán su dinero. El pueblo marca los presupuestos y las diversas comisiones se auditan entre ellas. El gobierno e, simplemente moderador y asesor. Ahí tenéis la espectaculares subidas de Inglaterra, Francia, Alemania, Holanda, Canadá, Suecia, Noruega, Polonia. En Italia, hoy, sacarían mayoría absoluta. En España,como aquella, ¿Y tu marido? cagando.
De verdad, ¿No os dais cuenta de que quien le corta el agua a los pobres, nos corta a nosotros el cuello y .........duerme plácidamente? Sino queréis no me votéis, pero por el amor de Dios, no votéis socialiamo. 

¿Qué cómo se han derrochado o robado los 140.000 millones de Euros? Por no tener representación los liberales, sencillamente.  Las Comunidades y Ayuntamientos trabajan con contabilidad presupuestaria ¿Verdad? Luego estaban de acuerdo  PSOE, Cámaras de Cuentas, Secretarios, Interventores y hasta el mismo Tribunal de Cuentas. En cuanto uno de esos eslabones no esté de acuerdo, NO PUEDO ROBAR NINGUNO. La oposición está para oponerse a cualquier alteración de los presupuestos, el Secretario o interventor debe poner en conocimiento de Cámara de Cuentas  cualquier desvío presupuestario  y esta, a su vez, al Tribunal de Cuentas para inmediatamente solicitar a los juzgados centrales la inhabilitación cautelar de los “rematantes”. Increíble pero cierto, en mi pueblo de 11 concejales hay 10 imputados,  desde 2008.  Para los días 27, 28, 29 y 30 de Noviembre sale el PRIMER JUICIO.

De todos son conocidas las pretensiones del socialismo quieren acabar en un localismo a la carta (A su carta) regido por una política nacional dejando al margen la Constitución. Por cierto, mañana, es el Bicentenario de la Liberal  “LA PEPA”.

Votar a Arenas de Cádiz y se presenta por Almería, votar a Manolo Recio o a la otra que no quiero ni mencionar su nombre porque me deprimo; sencillamente, es restar de tus derechos porque votas CUNEROS, VIVIDORES DE LA POLÍTICA. Votar al PSOE, Quien ha cortado el agua a 20.000 personas, creo que por falta de pago cuando se han llevado ellos tres billones de pesetas…ya lo dejo en vuestra conciencia.

SI VOTAS CDL SON DOS VOTOS; UNO EL TUYO Y OTRO EL DEL PARTIDO QUE SEGURO  NO HUBIESEN GOLPEADO A LA AGRICULTURA ALMERIENSE COMO HA OCURRIDO. ESTOS NO SABEN NI LO QUE ES UNA TOMATERA, PIENSAN QUE ES UN ÁRBOL. NENES DE PAPÁ ABURRIDO.
