X Factor finalists Brooks Way are suspended from the live shows amid claims twin Josh 'attacked girlfriend'
The news comes following claims Josh, 17, attacked his girlfriend Amelia Clarke at a New Year's party, something the hopeful has strenuously denied.
As the first live show of the series got underway, host Dermot O'Leary simply said: 'Sadly, due to circumstances, Brooks Way will not be appearing this evening.'
A show insider told the Daily Mirror: 'They’re investigating serious allegations about Josh allegedly sending threatening messages to her.'
Another source said: 'They are not being replaced by another act - there will simply be 11 acts, not 12
'Show bosses have not axed them - they have been suspended while the show has a chance to investigate claims.'
The duo are also said to have been removed from the X Factor finalists' house and relocated to a hotel.
MailOnline has contacted representatives for the X Factor and is awaiting comment.

The young Welshman - who performs as a duo with twin Kyle - responded to the story by claiming the incident at a party 10 months ago has been misinterpreted.
Issuing a statement on the matter, the singer said: 'A fight broke out between me and another male at a party.
'Amelia, along with others, tried to break it up and she was accidentally knocked in the process. It was never my intention to hurt her or put her in danger and this situation is way out of my character.'
Josh was hitting-back at the claims which say he was 'nicked' for 'beating up his girlfriend' claims the incident was misinterpreted after she intervened to stop a fight breaking out.
A source told MailOnline that no charges were brought and no further action was taken.
According to Josh he found himself squaring up with another party-goer, and to his horror his girlfriend Amelia was 'knocked' in the process.
Millions of viewers saw Louis Walsh back the pair during the judges' houses segment of the show, sending them through to the live rounds of the show.
The former Boyzone managed made some controversial choices by sending Four of Diamonds, Yes Lad, Skarl3t and duo Tom and Laura home.
The X Factor's competition will really be heating up now that the finalists have been confirmed, with live shows starting on Saturday October 8.
